Testimonials
“I joined the Dubois Area United Way about seven years ago, as a way to actively contribute to the well-being and development of our community. The organization’s mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities resonates deeply with me. By supporting initiatives that address the underprivileged/underserved, education, financial stability, and health, my fellow board members and I have always aimed to give back to our community and help create a positive impact for those in need. Additionally, being part of the Dubois Area United Way has provided me with the opportunity to make new friends and build meaningful connections with like-minded individuals who are equally passionate about making a difference. Together, we are creating a stronger, more connected community.”
When describing the United Way I always come back to the term “Ripple Effect” – the positive effects that extend beyond the immediate area of change. Being on the board I see first hand how the United Way’s partnership with local organizations strengthens our community. It amazes me how one organization can touch so many lives in so many diverse ways. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve others through the United Way. It is truly the “Ripple Effect”.
I am a lifelong resident of DuBois. Coming into my 3rd decade as a board of director of the DuBois Area United Way has been rewarding professionally, personally and provided me the opportunity for reflection. The mission of our United Way has always been and continues to be to help those in need. While executing that mission over the years; I, myself, have grown as an individual. The United Way has proven to me being humble and kind really does matter. I do my best to serve in an empathetic and compassionate way. Creating lifelong friendships while helping those in need is more than I expected to achieve as a board member. The board has given me a deeper understanding of the needs of our community that I would have otherwise never known existed. I love our United Way, as our organization helps those in need. We are community focused, community led and most importantly committed to our community. We look out for one another to help flourish our community and give those in need opportunities they may not have had otherwise.
