Meet the Members of the DuBois Area United Way Board of Directors

OUR Board

Executive Director

— Neil A. Hanes

Neil has been with United Way since 2022. He comes into the position with over 10+ years experience in the non-profit sector. He has been involved with the Junior Chamber of Commerce since 2013. During his time with the Jaycees, Neil has held leadership / advisory roles at the local, state, and national levels of the organization. Neil joined the United Way team because he wanted to be a part of something bigger than himself through the impact that is made. 

Ryan Carr, Acrisure DuBois

— Immediate Past President

Ryan has been a board member for over 5+ years. He served as the 2023 Campaign Co-Chair. He works as the Personal Lines Sales Manager at Acrisure of DuBois. Ryan also sits on other boards in the area -most recently serving as President of the DuBois Area YMCA board -as he continues to look for opportunities to cultivate positive change.

David McAllister, Direct Workforce Care

— President

David joined the DAUW Board in 2024. He is the Owner & Director of Operations of Direct Workforce Care located here in DuBois. David has worked in the Health & Safety field for over 20+ years. He sits on various safety, and athletic boards across the state of Pennsylvania. He strives to help others which is one of the reasons he joined the DAUW BOD. 

Heath Jenkins, Community Member

— Vice President

Heath has been a board member since 2023. He brings to the table experience in operational leadership. Heath enjoys helping others and sees this opportunity at DAUW as the ideal way to give back and create positive change in the tri-county area. 

Howie Allen, WalMart of DuBois

— Secretary

Howie has been part of the DAUW BOD for over 15+ years. He has served as Campaign Co-Chair in 2012. Howie is the Store Manager of WalMart of DuBois. He has always been an avid supporter within the DuBois Community over the years through his involvement in community events, sponsorships, board affiliations, and overall generosity. 

Shannon Taylor, Spherion Staffing

— Treasurer

Shannon also joined the board in 2023. She is currently the Regional Business Development & Operations Manager for Spherion of DuBois & St. Marys. Her passion for helping others is apparent through her community involvement and professional work. Shannon is also affiliated across other non profit organizations in the DuBois Area.

When describing the United Way I always come back to the term “Ripple Effect” – the positive effects that extend beyond the immediate area of change.  Being on the board I see first hand how the United Way’s partnership with local organizations strengthens our community.  It amazes me how one organization can touch so many lives in so many diverse ways.  I am thankful for the opportunity to serve others through the United Way.  It is truly the “Ripple Effect”. 
Jessica Runyon
I am a lifelong resident of DuBois. Coming into my 3rd decade as a board of director of the DuBois Area United Way has been rewarding professionally, personally and provided me the opportunity for reflection. The mission of our United Way has always been and continues to be to help those in need. While executing that mission over the years; I, myself, have grown as an individual. The United Way has proven to me being humble and kind really does matter. I do my best to serve in an empathetic and compassionate way. Creating lifelong friendships while helping those in need is more than I expected to achieve as a board member. The board has given me a deeper understanding of the needs of our community that I would have otherwise never known existed. I love our United Way, as our organization helps those in need. We are community focused, community led and most importantly committed to our community. We look out for one another to help flourish our community and give those in need opportunities they may not have had otherwise.
